Protein maple syrup rice pudding

Pouding au riz au sirop d'érable protéiné

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Makes 6 servings (14 g of protein/serving)

Ingredients:

125 ml (1/2 cup) Arborio, Calrose, or other short-grain rice

1 L (4 cups) 1% milk

2 tablespoons of Zenit organic vanilla plant-based protein blend

125 ml (1/2 cup) maple syrup

Optional topping suggestions:

Ground cinnamon

Dried fruit: raisins, dried cranberries, dried blueberries, diced dried mango

Chopped toasted nuts or almonds

Method:

In a large saucepan, gently bring all the ingredients to a boil. Simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes or until the rice is tender. It is important to stir frequently.

Remove from the heat and let cool! Serve hot or cold, sprinkled with a little ground cinnamon if desired.
